The second edition of the Child Protection Companion was produced between 2011-2013 following a robust editorial and review process. Each individual chapter was revised by an expert/s in the specific field and all chapters were then reviewed by the Editorial Board. Contents were updated from the current scientific evidence-base where possible and written in accordance with the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child UNCRC (article 19)2, current Child Protection legislation, national clinical guidelines and child protection policies across the devolved nations.
